Shepherd, hymn writer, warrior, adulterer and murderer- God chose a man who filled all of these roles to sit on the throne of Israel and promised him that through his family the chosen, anointed King Jesus would come.
In this nine-week series, we will follow the life of David: the impact of his kingship, his passion for God, his failings and repentance and how his life causes us to look to Jesus and acknowledge him as the King of Kings and Lord of all.
We will be looking at the highlights of David’s life- recognising that we would be unable to cover every area in such a short time frame- so we want to encourage you to be reading through the narrative of David’s life in 1 & 2 Samuel throughout this series, so you get a full picture of what has been reordered for us.
In order to assist you, we have listed two reading plans below. One which follows the passages we will be concentrating on during the sermons, and one which breaks down the biography of David’s life in 1 & 2 Samuel.
Our prayer is that the Lord would speak to us and show us the wonder of the Lord Jesus through the eventful life and ministry of King David.
