Our Story & Vision

Cornerstone Church Wirral launched in September 2013 as a Church plant from Cornerstone Church in Liverpool. Since then we have gathered at a number of venues around Port Sunlight before we were given a building on Bebington Road in February 2016. This is where we currently meet each week for our Sunday gathering.

God has really blessed us; we’ve seen people become Christians, our community has grown numerically and we’ve been able to get more involved in serving our local communities.

We believe that Church and Christianity is more than just a religious obligation reserved for Sunday mornings, in fact we believe that the Good News of Jesus Christ penetrates every area and aspect of our lives - we believe that Jesus changes everything!

On Sunday’s we gather to sing, hear teaching from the Bible and our Children get to participate in Kids Church; but we believe that Church is supposed to be so much more than even this.

During the week we also gather in Gospel Communities (GC’s) to study the Bible and share a meal together. This is a wonderful place to ask questions as we try to understand the Bible more and it allows us to support each other as we look to follow Jesus and live for him. We currently have five GC’s that meet in various locations across the Wirral and as our Church grows we want to multiply more GC’s as we share the love of Jesus through the ordinariness of everyday life.

It is our prayer that in the future we might be able to see more Churches started across the Wirral as our Church grows. There is a huge need and we desire to see Churches started in the areas were people can’t easily access a Church on their doorstep. We also partner with the Cornerstone Collective to see this happen beyond the Wirral and across Merseyside.
